Here is the second word in our Advent word study -  LOVE

The word “love” is one of the sloppiest words in our language, as it primarily refers to a feeling that happens to a person.
In the New Testament, “love” or "Agape" refers to a way of treating people that was defined by Jesus himself: seeking the well-being of others regardless of their response.

Not everyone will find Christmas easy this year.

Maybe someone is missing, and this Christmas there is an empty chair.

Christ was born for you and brings His light of hope.

His promise is peace for those who believe

'O Come All You Unfaithful' by Sovereign Grace Music

Official Music Video
Sovereign Grace Music
Written by Lisa Clow and Bob Kauflin
From the album Heaven Has Come

This video contains people who are processing “O Come, All You Unfaithful,” most of them for the first time, in light of their own experiences. A stillborn child. A strained marriage. Feelings of shame. Legalism. Loss. Loneliness. Or simply having a heart that weeps with those who weep.

We think seeing their responses as Lisa Clow sings communicates even more clearly that Jesus wasn’t born for people who have it all together. He was born for those who have nothing.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”” (Matthew 11.28–30, ESV)

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1.21, ESV)

So come.

Here is the second word in our Advent word study -  PEACE

"Peace" is a very common word in English, that means different things to different people.
It's also a very important word in the Bible that refers not only to the absence of conflict but also to the presence of something else.
In this video, we'll explore the core meaning of biblical peace, or Shalom, and how it all leads to Jesus.

At the beginning of Advent we explore one of the key themes of Chritmas, HOPE.

In the Bible people who have hope are very different from optimists!
In this video, we’ll explore how biblical hope looks to God’s character alone as a basis for trusting that the future will be better than the present.

Christmas Blessings from Trinity Community Church
Glenys
Hello and welcome to our church. If you are a new visitor, we have a page for you to get to know us and learn more about planning a visit.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello to Trinity Community Church

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Christ Church building

We meet at the Christ Church Building for our Sunday Service starting at 10:45 am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team.

The main service begins with a warm welcome from one of our service leaders, with a Call to worship. Then follows a time of sung worship. We typically have 1 or 2 songs. We will have a confession, and our family notices before the children leave for their groups. There is a reading from the Bible, prayers of intercession and a sermon based on our reading for the day. We often follow through a book of the Bible, or a topic/theme (you can CLICK HERE to listen to previous sermons). Twice a month (2nd and 4th Sunday), we share bread and wine, as we remember the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus on the cross. We then finish with a final worship song. There is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after our morning service. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

We also have a Wednesday morning service of Holy Communion, at 10 am at the Christ Church building. It is a short service followed by coffee, cake and fellowship.

In terms of accessibility, there is wheelchair access and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the hall.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

Dot to Tot (pre-school). Dot to Tot is our new crèche meeting during our Sunday service at Christ Church. Parents must stay with their children. There will be a point in our service where you will be invited to go out to Dot to Tot.
Beyond (4-11 years). Beyond is our Sunday school group for children in Primary School. The children leave during the service, after the notices, to go to their group, where they will learn more about Jesus, through singing, Bible stories and crafts. (Parents stay in the church service)
Youth (11-15 years). Not currently running.
Young people (15+ years) Stay in service.

Children stay with their parents or grown-ups at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We value worshipping God all together as a family. After a short time together, someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy. Whilst you are dropping your kids off at their groups, we pause to take time to chat to someone sitting near or next to us, giving folk a chance to come back before the sermon begins.

The children's group activities vary depending on the age but there is a friendly welcome, Bible stories, praying, music, craft, drama and fun games. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.

Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
